This troupe was formed February of 2002... our philosophy is to remain an exciting, entertaining dance troupe while fostering friendship and sisterhood in the dance community. It is required you play nice with others to be a member of Raqs El Sehr, and we are proud of it. We are all ages, all sizes, all ethnic backgrounds and all dancers!
GENERAL INFORMATION Saqra's Raqs el Sehr Shamal did their first public performance April 6 in Olympia at MasUda's Benefit for Camp Goodtimes (a children's camp for cancer patients and their siblings). Since then we have performed at county fairs, Renaissance faires, festivals, benefits & auctions, and untold other places. We were the featured entertainment at a Seattle women's conference! We were also featured in performance on a few different instructional DVDs.
